What are SCHADS Awards?

SCHADS Industry Awards are the pay rates and working practices in the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services industry. Do I need PEG Training?

At Arch Recruitment, we don't mandate PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) training as a requirement to join our team. However, it can certainly be an advantage for some of our clients who require candidates to assist with patient care using PEG tubes.

We understand that not everyone may have this skill. There are many training providers across Perth who can teach it, including Arch Association, who offer a variety of other courses for the disability sector.

Enrolled Nurse VS Registered Nurse?

Although enrolled nurses and registered nurses both provide essential care, there are important differences between them. Both are qualified to provide medical care such as monitoring patients, testing their wellbeing, maintaining hygienic environments, and assisting patients in basic care tasks.

However, enrolled nurses work under the supervision of registered nurses. Registered nurses are able to act without supervision and perform more complex tasks such as administering medications and advising on a patient care plan.

Disability care focuses on helping people increase their quality of life while living with a disability, aged care helps people maintain their quality of life as they grow old.

Disability support workers at Arch Recruitment provide aid to NDIS-funded individuals living with a disability to help them achieve their goals. This is done by building independence and overcoming obstacles while forming relationships in the community.

Aged care support workers provide assistance to ageing patients to help them stay safe, healthy, and independent through medical support and lifestyle changes.
